Breathing through the Asanas

Saturday, February 20, 10am-noon CST

The art of yogic breathing is not to be reserved only for the formal practice of pranayama. Breath awareness and varied uses of the breath can enhance the practice of asanas.

This class will include standing poses, seated poses and inversions, with dynamic and conscious use of the breath to enhance alignment, promote ease and cultivate a stable mind.

Moving from the Spine

Sunday, February 21, 10:00 am–noon CST

The spinal column is an incredible structure that has a dual nature. It is a strong central axis that supports the whole trunk. Yet the spine is also mobile, allowing the trunk to bend forward, sideways, backward, and to rotate.

In this class we will explore side bends, forward extensions, twists and backbends that can help create an optimal balance of spinal stability and freedom.
